Prevention and Physiotherapy Management of Falls in Older People

Course aim: To equip every physiotherapist to assess and recognise, and intervene appropriately with clients who have fallen or are at risk of falling. At the end of this course the learner will be able to

  1. Describe the context of falls in the elderly in Ireland
  2. Understand the risk factors and risk assessment
  3. Understand the implications for clinical practice
  4. Undertake a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment
  5. Plan appropriate fall prevention interventions
This course will take approximately 3 hours to complete, including the pre reading. You are not expected to have specialist knowledge in this area, in order to successfully complete this course.
