EIP AHA Latest 2013 Update of relevance to AFFINITY

The Health Service Executive (HSE) submitted a Partner Commitment AFFINITY (Activating Falls and Fracture Prevention in Ireland Together) to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP-AHA) Action Group A2 Personalised Health Management in 2012. Action Group A2 is the pilot falls initiative for EIP-AHA which aims to increase the average healthy life years (HLY) in the EU by 2 years by 2020, also known as a “Triple Win” for Europe.

“Triple Win” aims are to

  1. Improve the health and quality of life of Europeans with a focus on older people;
  2. Support the long-term sustainability and efficiency of health and social care systems;
  3. Enhance the competitiveness of EU industry through business and expansion in new markets.
The EIP-AHA approach fosters partnerships and collaboration across Europe to problem solve and progress often seemingly intractable issues, and is serving as a key driver for implementation of the National Strategy to Prevent Falls and Fractures in Ireland’s Ageing Population.
